Brutal Goose was formed in 1994 after the demise of Doctor Organ. Doctor Organ’s formidable rhythm section, comprising Andy Shields on drums and Bill ‘Dan’ Craig on bass looked to form another band. They recruited Tim Ryan on guitar and Stuart Dyer on vocals. The aim was to play their own style of full on heavy metal music. After a few gigs Stuart quickly lost interest and the band struggled on for a while with Tim on vocals. The band eventually found their feet when they recruited ex-Choice Spirit frontman Ian Patton. Ian’s semi-rap style vocals blended well with the Goose’s crushing riffage and thunderous rhythm section,The band have recently recruited Garr Sheepdug on second guitar.The band perfected their own type of self styled ’Rant Metal’ ,adding strong elements of hiphop and pop to their metallic bludgeon. Patton’s energetic stageshow coupled with the use of samples made the Goose an awesome live contender and they have done many gigs, including the Scottish Bug Jam, Scottish Tattoo convention and support to King Prawn & Psycore at the Glasgow Cathouse.
